      The Carmelite Monastery Choir is a small group that sings for services at the Carmelite Monastery, Philadelphia.  For all correspondence, please contact the music director.
      The choir sings each Sunday at the 8 AM Mass.        The music is traditional, both Latin and English, with chant and various styles. Each Sunday's liturgy includes an aspersion or Kyrie; chanted seasonal Marian antiphon, sung Gloria (in season); incensing; chanted Pater Noster
Our chaplain is Rev. Francis M. Gallagher.
We can forward your prayer requests to the nuns.

Carmelite monastery
is at 66th Avenue and Old York Road, where York crosses Broad Street, next to the Oak Lane Diner.  Parking lot on 66th  when monastery is open to public for special events.

In October 2007, the choir began its 7th full year of service to the
Monastery. Congratulations to all !

Currently, there are openings for soprano, tenor, and bass, and rehearsal accompanist.  If you can give of your time and talent, please contact Dr. Carroll at our e-mail.
